Building ZeroFumble

The story behind ZeroFumble and our vision for better interview preparation.

01

Interview preparation is often repetitive

Preparing for a technical interview can quickly become repetitive. Candidates move between question banks, coding platforms, notes, mock interviews, and scattered resources while trying to understand whether they are actually improving.

We wanted to build something that brings more of that preparation experience together while keeping the focus on practice.

That idea became ZeroFumble.

02

The idea behind ZeroFumble

ZeroFumble is designed around a simple goal: give candidates a more practical environment for interview preparation.

Instead of treating preparation as a list of questions to memorize, the product is designed around practicing how you actually respond, think, solve problems, and communicate.

The experience combines different forms of preparation so candidates can work on more than just their ability to remember an answer.

03

More than a question bank

A useful interview preparation product needs to go beyond a static collection of questions.

ZeroFumble is being built around multiple practice experiences, including interviews, MCQs, and coding practice. This gives candidates different ways to test their knowledge and identify areas where they need more work.

The broader goal is to make preparation feel closer to the situations candidates are actually preparing for.

04

Building for students and early-career developers

Students and early-career developers often have to prepare for interviews while balancing college, projects, learning, and applications.

That means preparation tools need to be practical. They should help users spend their limited time on meaningful practice rather than making them navigate unnecessary complexity.

This is one of the reasons ZeroFumble is being developed with a strong focus on accessible, structured practice.

05

An independent product within Proxil

ZeroFumble is an independent product within the Proxil ecosystem. It has its own codebase, product experience, and development roadmap.

That independence gives us the freedom to build the product around the needs of interview preparation without turning it into a collection of unrelated Proxil features.

At the same time, ZeroFumble benefits from the broader product-building philosophy of Proxil: keep the experience focused, solve a real problem, and build something people can genuinely use.

Practice hard. Fumble never.

Interview confidence comes from practice. There is no shortcut that replaces repeatedly putting yourself in situations where you have to think, communicate, and solve problems.

That is the idea behind ZeroFumble. We want to make that practice easier to access, more structured, and more realistic.

Practice hard. Fumble never.
